One of the more common requests /nasfaqg/ used to get back in the day (before NijiEN even, although the requests spiked when Lazulight was debuting) was to add Nijis.
Riku was on a warpath against fan projects at the time, so the devs for NASFAQ said "No. Holos and their mamas only." and that policy has been maintained since.

In working on my own projects over the years, both /here/ and elsewhere, I've talked with other devs, and any of them that wanted to do Niji stuff had roughly the same opinions:

>I don't want Nijisanji to just steal my work and claim it as theirs. This got even worse after the Selen outfit shit last year, as more artists became aware of Anycolor's willingness to just steal artwork and monetize it without giving the artist a cut, which is a big no-no in most artistic fields. The fact that Holo came out with a way for aspiring fan devs to monetize their work under license in the same year was icing on the cake.

Pretty much the only people making Niji-based games anymore are /here/, and that's almost exclusively as part of a larger unity project. Even then, with recent events I'd rather cut Nijis out than have to deal with the sisters. I have no fear for my reputation, it's just more hassle than it's worth.

Here's a breakdown of all the threads on /vt/ currently:

>1 Sticky for rules
>94 Hololive-specific generals and threads that mention Hololive in the OP
>6 Nijisanji-specific generals and threads that mention Nijisanji in the OP
>5 threads for fan projects (including this thread)
>Remaining threads are unity generals (such as /hag/), unaffiliated generals (such as /lig/), small corpo generals (such as /pcg/), indie generals (such as /pyon/), and various schizoposts that don't reference anybody in particular in the OP.

This means the distribution is as follows:
>62.7% Hololive
>4% Nijisanji
>3% Fan Projects
>30% Unaffiliated, Indies, Small Corpos, Unity, ect.

In a 40-player team distribution (rounded up), this would be

>2 Nijisanji Players
>2 Fan Project reps
