They all have some kind of detail in their hair or face, which makes them distinctive. Mumei has the feathers, but they are far back on her head. When you look at just her face, the distinctive detail is far away in the image, remaining only a small hair clip. Then you have Ollie, who with the amount of features she has, you get lost and don't have the contrast to admire the details.
That's what I think at least, and I have no fucking clue about character design.

This makes me appreciate Amelia even more, she is really stunning. The amount of detail in her eyes and a simple hair ornament make absolutely all the difference, and if that wasn't enough, she has hats that match very well with her. Nabi, I kneel.
I still think Mumei has the best design in EN2 despite what I said.
