Is there a number on how much pieces were sold? If not, I can assume they made less of it so that it would come out as "sold out" to appear valuable/many people would buy it. Like, making 100 available pieces and 97 people bought it. If it says 10000 and 90% people bought it, then It's safe to say that nijiEN works. The same goes for some nijiJP merch aside from popular ones like chronoir. I don't believe that new liver's merch were very worth of the money and sometimes I don't like how they and their fans exaggerate a merch's value.
