It's kinda funny, Calli was supposed to be the front runner and instead Gura got the spotlight.
Calli is still the frontrunner of just Myth, but Gura, as you said, became the mascot, like Jack Frost to SMT or Spiffo from PZ or the Creeper to fucking Minecraft.

For reference, people laugh or meh at humans dying but they can't and usually won't forgive the dog being offed. Gura is the dog, but in all the positive ways.
