Over your first month, you’ve demonstrated or shared you can play the violin, viola, and piano. What was your journey in learning these instruments? Can you play other instruments?
>Hello, and thank you for having me! So for the violin, many many many years ago I saw an orchestra performance and one of the violinists had a golden violin. I was like “I want that!” and decided to pick it up because of its aesthetic. I took lessons for many years.
>Viola and piano just kind of happened over time and are mostly self-taught. I can also play a teeny tiny bit of cello and guitar, and am a strong kazoo enthusiast!
Are there any new instruments you hope to try someday?
>A HURDY GURDY! I really, really, really, really, really want a Hurdy Gurdy, which is a really cool medieval turny-turny instrument. I would also like a harp, but I know they are notoriously hard to play, so it’s probably not a good idea. Another instrument that seems super cool is the shamisen though! Maybe one day I can try it out!
How did you first discover hololive? What inspired you to audition?
>My first exposure to hololive was Matsuri-senpai’s “bandaid” YouTube clip… and I just thought to myself “Who is this funny lady?” I don’t speak Japanese, but I started watching a lot of translated clips of other hololive talents at that point, and then Myth debuted!
>Through my long automaton life, I’ve always been someone that gains and loses interests in things really quickly, but my interest in VTubers never wavered. And in hololive specifically, there is so much variation from just playing games, to being musicians and idols! Plus everyone is so cute!!! I got inspired to try for the tiniest chance of being able to do all of these fun things together with people I look up to. And here we are! Honestly, it still feels very surreal to me and I’ve been floating around just taking things in since debut. I’m very happy to be here.
On top of German and English, you can speak French, which you displayed greatly at Japan Expo 2024, and even a bit of Norwegian. How did you learn those languages?
>Honestly, I am not that good at studying languages through textbooks and the like, but exposure works really well for me! I consume a lot of media in their respective languages. For example, listening to audio books or watching shoujo anime in French dub, or simple movies in Norwegian. It really helps! Next will be: Japanese!!!
When did you start coding, and what inspired you to learn it?
>A long time ago, I learned the basics of different coding languages because I was convinced I should do IT stuff. Then I realized that I didn’t like it and dropped it all! Oops!
>But then, recently, I played a super cute Touhou fan game and a bunch of other simpler indie games, and thought to myself “I wish I knew how to make those!” So I took a Godot beginner’s class. I still only know the basics, but it’s fun and I recommend anyone to check Godot out, as it’s pretty intuitive compared to other programming languages! Yeah!
You mentioned Code Geass was your favorite anime. Can you share what you like the most from it? What are your favorite character(s) and moment(s) from it?
>For me, Code Geass was one of the first more “serious” anime that I watched! So imagine the feeling of only watching cutesy silly anime for a long time, and then suddenly coming across something so highly polished and with an actual plotline. It really blew me away. To this day I think it has aged really well and still holds up and has one of the best OSTs ever. My favorite parts are the soundtracks “0,” “What’s Justice,” (hehe fitting) and the different creative magical powers in the show! Plus, C.C. is cute!
You recently participated in a Coffee vs Tea debate, alongside other talents from hololive English, where you brilliantly made your case for tea with undeniable facts and logic. What was your takeaway from that experience?
>My takeaway is that you can make a real website with real facts and statistics that I didn’t make up at all, but the other girls will just go and make things up. And it’s not okay!!!!
>But Tea Won! So, all is well in the world. I hope no one reading right now has any coffee close to them and if you do, you should throw it away!!
