Its not that simple, anon.
I do feel like doctors, specially private ones, over-diagnose mental and cognitive illness way too much, either because of negligence, greed, or most commonly incompetence.
If you check the DSM5 for Major Depression you'll notice you CAN be depressed without being "sad"; you'll also notice that any of the symptoms cannot be caused by other illness (a common example is fatigue, loss of concentration and loss of pleasure being attributed to depression while the patient has anemia or hypothyroidism), or even other mental illnesses.
My point being that generally mental illnesses are a complicated matter for the affected, and commonly also out of the capacity of most doctors and even psychiatrists because a lot of them are really fucking stupid, since the area isnt that hard to get in and a lot of low caste med class tend to get in the area.
