the majority of vtubing wasn't idol-centric or "trying to be" idols before hololive was popular in the west. Nowadays, indies and small corpos try to wear the "idol" image despite being far from it. Vtubing in 2017-2019 was better than what we have now for sure, though.

I think it's time we talk about this. /vt/, despite being a board for vtubers have more discussion towards Hololive. Dominating to the point it has attracted multiple baits, drama, and off-site cliques such as Twitter users.

Argument 1: Small corpo and indie threads are not able to keep their thread up from being pushed down by excessive bait threads made every minute.

Argument 2: Hololive is getting bigger. Soon EN3 will make its debut, with JP7 after that. With them comes more splits. And more small threads being pushed down.

Argument 3: The huge number of schizos and trolls were born out of excessive number of Hololive oriented threads.
