I don't know how bots work so I don't know why they cause that pattern. I'd say what's more important is finding literally any legitimate reason for a chart to look like that, and there isn't any. Sometimes a big raid will come in and spike viewers, and if they leave immediately after that could lead to a single spike like that. For the Bart Simpson wave to be legit Fuwamoco would have needed to get huge raids consistently every 10 minutes, and in every single one of those raids all the viewers added would have to immediately dip out. Then conclude all of that with a stream crash or something so it returns to a more normal and stable number for the latter half of the stream.

The Ironmouse chart is a good example of what big raids actually look like though. She gets one just before the 10 hour mark and another one at about 12:45. Big spikes up, followed by a smaller spike down.
