I can just see Layna as a Dark Souls type boss where you face her in the Blood temple and have her throwing out all these different attacks with her blood phantom limbs but also channeling her power into the blood covering the floor. You can reduce some of her attack power by dumping a bottle of Colloidal Silver in resulting in a special cut-scene where she freaks over it but you get more exp and the chance to have her survive after and become an ally/lore-giver if you can defeat her without resorting to it.
