Hello, yes, liaschizo here. Revisiting one of the most speculative rrats delving into the complex interplay of the Ashelia x Pippa origins. It’s my thought that the song “Pippa the Rippa” isn’t a song celebrating Pippa’s own ambitions but instead a meta deconstruction of “Ashelia” and Lia’s original expectations and motivations for pursuing vtubing inside her broader experience of Idol groups. This also plays somewhat into the Pippa x Nyaru interview being a thinly veiled proxy on Lia’s own foundations. When viewing the content of Pippa the Rippa we see ambitions that don’t necessarily align with Pippa showing instead an Idol vision that more appropriately aligns with Ashelia. Particularly the shadowy adversarial nature of the other performers outlined in the lyrical content only really applies to Lia’s newcomer status in the industry. I think this ties deeper into Pippa’s incredibly subtle denigrating treatment of her fans and the hallmark subcontextual negging that many of the girls utilize to affirm/shit test their viewers for their self admission of being attracted to any one talent. Lia’s lack of “””traditional”””” Idol singing / drawing / game autism is something that really highlights the X factor of her performance but also serves the basis for the complex mockery inherent to the dynamic between Pippa and Lia wherein quite literally they become inversions of one another’s originally stated paths. Probably right up there alongside the highly volatile three way Virus x Cat x Star dynamic that was a staple post Lia 2.0 launch. Lia’s had an amazing stand alone year so far with only faint hints of leaning on her Shiina relationship as an outside influence from within the company. Lia’s recent “bestie” business does good in highlighting her similarities but even more so shows the things in Lia that Nova is not. I think stemming from the initial Pippa x Nyaru collabo Lia learned and exploited the raw power of utilizing collabo partners as strong delineators of the charm points Lia posses that her stream partner lacks. I’m wondering if as Winter drags on we might see a return to a more “high friction” adversarial nature of interactions with talents that further hone the Lia character.
