This is a hobby unlike any other where advertising is a core part.
When a vtuber refuses to say "I'm a hag" because they're shy even though there is a huge group of people who love +30 year old women, its a bewildering CCV loss on their side and annoying to hag lovers on the this side. Even worse is when someone makes a incredible advertisement of themselves like "I just want to start doing yandere roleplay but I'm not sure how, so far I'm just being sweet to my viewers", gets the entire thread's attention, and then refuses to name who they are.
