This brings us to Necron – the only end of game boss that is a conclusion to the themes of the game rather than the story. Necron is simply a representation of death, and as such is the antithesis to the point of the game. He witnesses the events of the game and, upon viewing the destruction caused by those who didn’t have long to live (the citizens of Terra, Garland, Kuja, the Back Mages), misinterprets their violent actions as a desire for destruction. He thinks that living beings crave death, and so decides to give them exactly what they want.
