Rika made Japanese women's top character (inclusive of all genders, beating out ikemen characters) poll and she came out well before regloss debuted, seems like it was pretty clear which direction she should've went if she wanted success.

Reverse traps are under-utilized. The only one of which I know for EN is that jewcorp girl and she is unfortunately low quality.
Reverse traps can even be popular with girls, that reverse trap from the new Pokémon game was ranked #1 in Japan by females for their favorite character. Maybe someday we’ll get someone good.
