Err. First I have some very slight concerns over the formation of that ridge. I'm against making too much changes to the terrian because it might be a problem when considering the geological history and formation of the different features. But that's assuming the map generator we used when the project started in 100% correct, and that we would actually be that autistic over it.

Second, there is really no need because while I don't know what you have planned for hoshi's pre-/vt/ history, Hoshiyomia existed for longer than the Republic. Before the Republic was formed they are mostly a collection of independent petty-states. And only pretty much right up to before the current state was founded did they start to consolidate into notable state entities. So it can go many ways. One is that it is the extent of the core province of the Empire that became the Principality. And the Western coastal bit was a relatively recent expansion when the North was still a bunch of city-states.
Also about that, I wrote that before that point some nobles in the Principality were invited to become princes of some of the petty-states in the north. Does that work for you and won't screw up any of your plans?
