I'm still miffed vedal didn't go for the humanoid robot being sold by hiwonder instead.

Robot dogs have really bottomed out in the last decade. There are research and hobbyist kits that you build cheaper. I've seen a lotta grad projects on youtube, hackernews, and reddit that are fully open source.

Have to agree. I'm surprised turtle didn't go for one of the more smaller basic humanoids out there. Neuro in a small doll-sized form seems like it'd be more marketable. Imagine her stumbling around trying to walk and going "oof!". Cute!

Something like Nao or Darwin-OP is too expensive, but looking up the robodog company he chose, HIWONDER has a similarly programmable humanoid for the same pricepoint.
