>don't know how frustrating it is to know the meanings of words but not know the reading
'A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words. Where can I find someone who's forgotten words so I can have a word with him?'

>is your point that people with ideology different than yours should be snuffed out pre-emptively for wrongthink before they've actually done anything?
Yes.
All societies do this; there has not existed, in the history of mankind, one that doesn't do this.

>modern America does it
lol.

'Anyone who clings to the historically untrue and thoroughly immoral doctrine that violence never settles anything I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedoms'.

'Man is what he is, a wild animal with the will to survive, and (so far) the ability, against all competition. Unless one accepts that, anything one says about morals, war, politics—you name it—is nonsense. Correct morals arise from knowing what man is—not what do-gooders and well-meaning old Aunt Nellies would like him to be'.

Religion is philosophy in a way the masses can understand because, philosophy per se, is inherently incomrehensible to the masses.

'Philosophy is by its nature something esoteric, neither made for the mob nor capable of being prepared for the mob'.
- Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel

'Despotism may govern without faith, but liberty cannot. How is it possible that society should escape destruction if the moral tie is not strengthened in proportion as the political tie is relaxed? And what can be done with a people who are their own masters if they are not submissive to the Deity?'
- Alexis de Tocqueville, 'De La Démocratie en Amérique'

'It is easier to discover a deficiency in individuals, in states, and in providence, than to see their real import or value'.
- Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, 'Vorlesungen über die Philosophie der Weltgeschichte'

bipolar and adhd, i only take meds for the adhd because that shit can be almost impossible to safely and independently live with when it's severe. meds can really help sometimes if you're actually mentally ill and on the correct dosage
