What happened is that Yuri wanted a 6-12k model as part of her sign-on Bonus.
Fish was was thirsting for the Lumi poach so he said okay in return for her signing over the full rights to the IP.
She then did whatever she did and fucked off with funds for 8k worth of Computer parts.
Fish reimbursed everyone that donated to that fundraiser.
So no.
There was no stealing.
She signed over an IP she got for free from her previous position in return for an all expenses paid redebut.
She did an oopsie.
In the process fundraiser funds had to be returned.
(Also she received a full payout of donos the month after her termination anyway. She said as much).
Was the termination itself justified?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
