For me it's not about "sharing interests" the way friends do but just having someone you can introduce to new things and have them introduce you to new things and develop shared hobbies through experimenting with what you're both into individually. If I just wanted to talk about Yugioh I have plenty of people to do that with who are already into Yugioh, but I'd like someone I could groom into teaching her YGO and see her enthusiasm for experiencing a new hobby. Girls like Pomu are really open to trying new nerdy things and not being judgemental or closed off into a shell like most introverts. It's a really difficult struggle looking for nerdy girls who aren't like...completely devoid of passion.
