They're terrible, vtubers can't play for shit. And their reactions are always forced and cringe.

There's obviously exceptions but as a whole they miss the point of streaming, and that's audience interaction. Their numbers are just too big to have meaningful interaction with the audience and its just them generally hand waving to the crowd so someone can say "omg I made eye contact with her!"
Smaller streamers are better for this because they actually have time to read their chats.

Niji isn't much better but they have a strong singer here and there and the males have some unappreciated gems (hayato)

They're pretty good if you give them a chance. Much more natural than niji and holo. Though still falls into the pitfalls of too large a chat.
