The vtuber featured today was picked at random from the images of the thread from yesterday.
The "seed" of the random number generator which decides which chuuba is chosen is the post number: For example, this will be the seed >>3829491 for tomorrow's gacha.
Then using a simple to deduce formula you get a new post from the thread, in this case it should probably be >>3830491 if it falls in this thread, if not, an alternated seed would be used. Since it will most likely be a post without an image, it will bounce again using yet another easy to deduce formula until it hit a post with an image.
I thought of just using the OP to do this but it would be too easy to abuse.
From then interactions between chickens begin to happen, also decided by RNGs most of the time but mostly because of proximity to each other.
Also, if all the chuubas given by the seeds in one particular thread have been featured already, I will move to another timeblock since vtubers streaming at this hour have an statistical advantage over the rest. This has been close to happen several times already.
