SIN CLASSIFICATION: GREED

I used to think "doesn't lust, gluttony and sloth all fall under the greed umbrella?" To me it feels like the MacDaddy of all sins, but I guess it's all in how you perceive it. Every sin is getting some spotlight in this album, so I didn't wanna dive too hard in to this thought and figured we'd better stick to the more "base" offenses of greed itself. Wanting "the good stuff" in excess. I feel like people are subconsciously doing this at every second of the day, isn't there something inherently human about it?

Initially, when I raised the idea of a Greed based song, WAVY mentioned wanting to make something with a more "positive" vibe. So, I thought we'd go for a theme of "I worked hard to get the things I want, so what about it?"
In the end though, it ended up becoming a musical portrait of the utter simplicity and bluntness of "wanting." We're playing mouthpiece for a generation of humans who want, work, obtain. But it's hard to write a greedy song without an obnoxious overtone, so we said eh, forget it. We're gonna go all out, and if it makes you scoff at us, cringe at us, then do it. You should.

I got so many congratulatory messages from my senpai from the underground (some I hadn't spoken to in years) as well as friends of mine who only knew WAVY when it comes to J-Rap. His music was all we played at the clubs a few years ago, and I remember it fondly. I learned a lot about making music with intentional auto-tune, rapping in staccato and trying out a style completely different from my own and I'm pleased with it.

Is it greedy for me to wanna fly even higher? Probably not, I think that's just ambition and that is uh, not necessarily a sin...depending on the context!!
