I love his art, I just dont think it works for FF. Mainly because it has nothing to do with the games themselves both concept and design-wise. It's not like Toriyama and DQ where you can feel his influence while playing the game.
Here's a cool Vampire Hunter D art he made, he worked on the novels. I think the old anime adapts his style pretty well.
