Hello, drawing guy here with an update: Life still in the way, but I should be able to do frames 1 by 1 now. I've decided to re-draw the original frames by tracing the original video instead of drawing every frame on paper, then scanning, and then re-drawing it with mouse.

Left is trace of my pencil and paper, right is trace of video. Sorry if it gets rid of some of the soul, but I just don't have a drawing pad and it's too hard otherwise.
