Ah, sorry, I was just making sure in case you didn't know. Unfortunately I don't think I have much useful advice for you. You just need to keep at it, try to enlarge your vocabulary as much as possible (i.e. mining), get as much exposure as you can (streams, anime, manga games, twitter, books) and keep doing your reps and it will eventually start to come naturally to you. I can't "think in Japanese actively" either, my speaking skills are not good enough for that, but over time I got good enough in able to do it "passively" if you know what I mean. It's just a matter of exposure and practice really, if you never learned a word, the chances of you catching it during a stream a zero, if you heard and looked it up once or twice, chances are you won't catch it either, but if you've repeated it many times, you will start understanding it during the streams naturally as well, so mining and learning as much stuff as possible is basically a shortcut. The more you know, the less you'll have to actively search in your brain by attempting to translate. But I'm sure you knew most of this already. Just hang in there a little and you'll figure it out!
