I would have ended up removing my tile if it came out to a clean rectangle, but the math told me that wasn't possible, and I tried to arrange the tiles into a little ghost but that didn't work out either. As for the Krita shit, while I was working on this I had an epiphany and I realized what had happened to my original tile.

In MSPaint, I would always copy paste reference images into the window and use the color picker tool to get colors, and if you dragged the image into the MSPaint window it would delete your work entirely. But in Krita it's backwards, dragging the image into the window lets you insert it as a new layer, but inserting it using copy paste opens a new project. So when I picked my color and ctrl + Z didn't remove the reference image, I thought it deleted what I had so I just opened up a new instance of my project. So I had one instance of the project that was just started, and one that I had finished the tile in. When I went to close the program I chose to save my work, but the prompt was actually for the unfinished version that was still open, and it saved that version over the finished one. So I'm gonna cross out those "growing pains" I referenced in my first post and write "attempted suicide" there instead

You can stop now, you did your job well. The spite you generated must have at least contributed a couple tiles to the card by itself
