Manufacturing is very important. It turned USA, Japan, Germany, Britain, France, etc... into powerhouses and now those very same countries outsourced their manufacturing industries to China and fucked over their local population for short-term profits. Climate change is just a scapegoat for elites to ship manufacturing overseas. It doesn't matter if it's yucky industrial stuff like steel, glass, coal, rubber, or plastic. Manufacturing is power and a hard capital that actually builds infrastructure unlike useless paper like service based economies.
