What caused that particular update was 1-2 weeks of Rushi dips which had everyone buy her to a then staggering 15k volume. A price change down also took the volatility with it, so 3k Rushia would be on $0.03 increase per coin bought, so not even $100 per cycle. Shortly after Ayamy had about the same price change but with a base price of $70 which is where most of the Ayamy hoarders got in.
If we went back to that system now, Calli would never move again aside from adjustments, and most other coins would be on that level as well. For some reason, it was okay when Okayu did it back when Mogu had ~56% market share.

Now, regarding your idea: prestige would only work with liquid wouldn't it. So Cypher right now could do it once, and he will be one of only a few players able to afford it.
If the amount needed grows with total market evaluation it will be the same rat race as we already have.
sure you COULD prestige coins away but who would do that if they stay such a good investment? And why even buy them if they don't?
Aside from that, you now have a tiered leaderboard. And really, that's about it. You had to spend money to get there one way or another, others following you will have to do the same, it's basically another form of currency at this point. One that you would only use once you pass 100M in divvies and you already struggle to spend all that shit.
I don't want to immediately thrash the idea, don't get me wrong, just interested in how well it holds up regarding these points.

I think we should clarify that this is not because of anons being sleepy, this was brought up again because anons felt they had too much time between HOUR NINETEEN or whenever the numbers roll in and the actual adjustment, which might have some impact for autists or whatever.
