In a far-off land, so long ago,
A clever cook made bread from bark, you know!
He mixed and stirred with all his might,
Until his dough was fluffy and light.

He baked it up in a hot, hot fire,
And when it was done, he didn't tire,
Of sharing his bark bread with one and all,
Who came to taste, and heard his call.

At first, they were hesitant, to give it a try,
But with one bite, they let out a sigh,
For the bark bread was tasty, it was true,
And all who ate it, wanted more than a few.

It wasn't wheat or rye or corn,
But from a tree, this bread was born,
And though it might sound quite bizarre,
It was a snack that would take you far.

With a little jam or maybe some cheese,
You'd be surprised how it could please,
And so, my friend, I say to you,
Give bark bread a chance, it might just do.
