well, axel in the manga seemed unnaturally strong and bloodthirsty. yeah you can argue that thats just his character but even magni and altare seemed shocked at the ease he threw his bone throne. its be cool if he wasnt totally human a half breed or something that gives him those aspects along with the teeth, the preference for bloody meats, and maybe enhanced senses which is why hes so into scents.

but yeah a hound devil like form would be really cool, make it a painful transformation that he cant fully control and its just purely instinctual, that bit of red in his eyes should take over the entire iris right before he changes. it only happens when theres a huge rush of endorphins, sorrow, distress, rage, lust, and maybe when hes actually drunk off his shit due to his consciousness floating. tho because its instinctual there should be a tether, like a person, that can bring him down from those moments easier than him just running out of stamina and passing out. I wanna see a scene where he's in a rage and that person comes along to sooth him.

And desu if you wanted to connect it with magni's lore then you can have it as like, he was that guy who went off to the expedition. during it he awoke to his second half, killing not only his team but the monster they were to fight, and when he woke up he had forgotten who he was, where he was, and why there was so many dead bodies surrounding him. So he went off on his own and ended up fighting in the coliseum for the easy money. then that tether of his that helps grounds him and manages his hound form could be magni. which explains the whole thing of axel mentioning the alchemist nonstop always.
