A good daily schedule helps this, you can even write down a list that you can view every day that reminds you what to do for the day. Eating well and going to bed do wonders. Medicine too, if you need it. I'm saying this as someone who's on medication and has been hospitalized before, maybe these small things don't seem like they help but they really do in the long run. It isn't a magic button. A major part of recovery is setting a routine, it becomes comforting. Keep yourself busy in down time with a hobby or watching streams, learn to cook nice meals, try taking Vitamin D supplements, those kinds of things. That helps you on TOP of medication. You can't just take pills and suddenly get better. But I am sure you know how that feels.
The only time self-fulfilling prophecies happen is when you think about them so much that you convince yourself that they will. Catch yourself when you think about it and you can even move to a different location of your house or something and get busy cleaning. That helps tell your brain you do not want to be entertaining intrusive thoughts.
