Do you guys have any advice for writing a scene with emotional impact/inner turmoil? Like when a character is suddenly given a life-shattering piece of information or makes a heartbreaking discovery. How do I describe the raging emotions inside them and the subtle actions in their expression to show that they're really distraught? I'm fine with writing dialogue for scenes like this, but the initial shock and silence as they process the information is difficult to write well.
