Slowly but surely it is being written. It's great when you get unstuck out of the rut and things flow again after staring at a paragraph for five hours and thinking "what the fuck do I write next" even though it'll happen again within the next few hundred words

Pain comes with the package, I'm afraid. Don't think I can be of much help, being in the same boat, but try using other fics as reference for the style you're going for. Making dialogue sound "natural" translates differently to text than it does in speech, remember that. Personally, I try to enact the dialogue in my mind first and keep rolling it around back and forth through the scene; it takes a bit of intrinsic knowledge of conversation flow and pacing to judge this kind of thing, so it's hard to explain well.
All the worse when you're trying to convert tones, personality, and speech patterns from JP chuubas into English without making it feel like too much of a bastardization.
