it's a condition where when your fingers stay grabbing something for a long period of time, they can lock and cause a snapping motion as the tendon on the finger cant glide over itself, so it gets stuck and "snaps" back into place causing the finger to snap into place.

It goes away after using the finger, but it can hurt.
In my case I carry shit constantly and i'm a roofer whos using a nailgun for 8 hours every day, so my fingers are wrapped around something.
