Who cares what the game says. SMB can be beaten on anything as long as you're comfortable with it. On KBM it's even easier because of the separate buttons and you can press left-right a lot faster without doing some shit like claw grip.
It's funny how recent Yakuza PC ports go with the same message and then throw these godawful highway chase segments that are complete ass with controller on Legend.
