There's a handful that does, but more people just enjoy the trainwreck because Mel does shit like this and when it backfires on her she runs away. She tried to throw an artist under the bus for pity points, but she didn't expect actual chinese people to see her tweet and inform the artist of the fake DMs. So you're right, people mostly watch the slow burning fire rather than the source. Reason we knew it was mel was because before she deleted the twitter account of the so called artist, it redirected from reikirihara when you searched that twitter name.
