You see fellas, the orange properties are the most strategic to try and monopolize. The cost of putting houses on them cost the same as putting houses on the pink properties but they have much greater return. On top of that, just a few tiles before these properties are the jail, a railway/airport, the pink tiles, and a utility. All of those are locations a player can be forcibly sent to which positions opponents right at the start of your monopoly. This zone has more tiles you can be forced to than any other zone. With the green and blue tiles being the least likely for a player to reach since the "go to jail" tile proceeds it and "chance" tiles can force you to the "go" location which allows you to skip that area of the board. The "go to jail" tile can also make you skip the brown and light blue tiles. A great late game strategy is to actually remain in the jail where you are safe for up to 3 turns to avoid landing on opponents' high cost properties. The red and yellow tiles are also a viable strategy to target as they have a higher than average probably of being landed on, just with a higher upgrade cost as well as higher return. Keep in mind though that to cost of a house on a yellow tile is the same as it would be for a red tile, so it makes more sense to try and get the yellow monopoly. My strategy every game is to get the orange properties by any means then using the money from them to get the yellow, red, or green tiles; in that order of desirability
