Alright, I'm back on my PC now! So first off, there was another pregnancy kindred in here who had the very beginnings of something written for the pregnancy cult: https://rentry.org/gx6d6 I believe she also posted this in /luxnoc/ and you responded to it? I also offered her suggestions for how to flesh things out a bit more >>27122400. I'm not sure where she was ultimately planning to take this, as she got busy pretty much right after this and hasn't done any writing for this thread since. Now, onwards to some of my thoughts about Kindred. Have you read the Kindred creation myth linked in the Luxiem overview? This will make more sense if you have.

- Kindred's shapeshifting ability is a passive effect of Vox's chuubanite, but the people believe it's due to their youkai ancestry. "Adopted" Kindred eventually gaining the ability as well after spending long enough in the Holy Kingdom is a matter of some ceremony, as the people regard it as the newcomer receiving Vox's blessing.

- There are limits to the level of shapeshifting possible based off merely the chuubanite's passive effects. While people can change their appearances and make minor cosmetic changes (black sclera and the growing of horns or claws, for example) they can't make any changes to their basic physiology. No drastic height changes, no complete sex changes -- though they could very convincingly pass for the opposite gender if they so desired -- no functional gills or wings, and so on.

- These shapeshifting effects can be further enhanced by refining the chuubanite and performing a ritual. This is a well-kept religious secret. The commonfolk believe this is caused by stronger youkai ancestry, and thus a closer relation to the original Kindred. Higher-up members of the clergy undergo this ritual, repeating it each time they rise in rank, allowing them to take on less and less human forms.

- The capital city, Akuma Castle, is a perfect recreation of Vox’s old estate. This is both the heart of the kingdom and a Forbidden Palace type deal. Only the highest ranking members of the clergy, believed to be reincarnations of Vox’s original clansmen, are allowed within its walls. These priestesses and the rare priest or two would be the only ones allowed to wear scarlet.

- Functionally, this means as you get further and further into Kindred lands, the people become less and less human-looking as well as more and more fervently, frighteningly devoted to their god.

Aside from the /rose/ stuff, it seems pretty barebones. I like it well enough for what it is, I suppose, but I think some of the statements are a little too generalized. In particular, homosexuality being welcomed by the entire federation doesn't really seem to reflect the state of the thread. I think it'd be more accurate to say it's contentious, with some states being overwhelmingly in support and others only reluctantly tolerating it. Additionally, I think the bit about the nation being under constant attack by schizos feels off. Raids are usually blindingly obvious given the difference in thread culture between /nijien/ and the rest of the board, and tourists are relatively easily driven away by yaoiposting sisters. The shitposts that actually stick and make entire threads unusable are usually from our own, homegrown shitposters. Therefore, I think the nation would be better depicted as a land full of warring states, only grudgingly held together by a nebulous treaty drafted on the premise it is as their pantheon desires. While some clans experience true unity between each other, the majority are indifferent to the existence of the others at best and outright hostile at worst. Small wars between states and attempts at coups against whichever state is perceived to be most powerful at the moment frequently break out. Alliances with the nation are risky at best, as you can never guarantee the approval of the entire federation, and even if majority opinion is with you today, in the very next a previously docile state may experience a fit of discontent, inciting upheaval.

One might think this makes /nijien/ weak and ripe for the taking, a battleground among which schizos could easily sow discontent -- but this could not be further from the truth. The federation employs a militia which draws soldiers from all 20 of its clans. Given the wildly different cultures, specialties and physical abilities of each clan, the army is remarkably versatile and good at spotting would-be saboteurs. The strange and unfamiliar customs practiced by some of the clans is frightening to schizos, and the militia has taken these customs and further refined them into purer forms, developing specialized anti-schizo weapons. Though the federation's population has a fairly even gender split, for reasons unknown the majority of its militia consists of women. The men tend to be better at identifying enemies, however. Homosexuality is more prominent among the militia than it is among civilians, causing some tension between them.

Also since the thread is so different during SEA hours vs burger hours I thought it’d be neat to have some of the clans be nocturnal because they believed their gods are more active at night, based off the times the livers regularly stream, causing the nation to seemingly become a different place with the setting of the sun. Looking at the location of nijien on the map, I suppose this would make SEA hours daytime?
