Looking at videos, seems like you do need to load the ender pearl yourself first but I'm realizing that's not really an issue since you would then just reload it yourself after teleporting there. I guess the one issue is that you'd end up teleporting anyone who set up an ender pearl in the teleporter. Also it'd require setting up a bunch of redstone to connect everything.

Didn't think it'd be that short, but it was a lot of fun seeing her play solo again, it's been a really long time and it's so different from playing on the server. I'm also really happy she got ド〇クエ permissions.
