HoloEN was originally supposed to have 3 members that were each extremely talented: Mori, Ina, and Gura, each with their own manager.
However at some point management realized they didn't get along very well with eachother as a "group" and their motifs clashed too much. So the decision was made to add 2 more members at the last minute to bring it all together.
Mori recommended Kiara, and Gura recommended Ame, since they were real life friends and already streaming to double digit viewers on Twitch.
Cover, completely ignorant of the western streamer market and having very low expectations to begin with, had no problem adding these 2 completely no-name talentless girls since it would at least serve to highlight their more talented peers if they flopped.
Jenma was assigned as their manager since she's the most inexperienced of the 3 managers and therefore got given the bitch work on top of managing Gura.

Kiara and Ame's relationship with their genmates also shows their differing views on the situation and worldviews in general based on their upbringing.
Kiara grew up in the heart of Europe, where society is based heavily off cooperation and people happily accept help from their neighbors and friends when they're in need. She's extremely loyal to Mori as the person who saved her from a life of bouncing from one failure to another for the last 10+ years.
Ame on the other hand was raised in rural America where "handouts" are considered to be shameful and relying on others is a sign of weakness. As a result she feels extremely self-conscious about being seen as Gura's sidekick and overworked herself early on to try to establish herself as just as good as Gura, to no avail since nobody is as good as Gura.
At some point she gave up on being Gura's equal and instead just avoids collabing with Gura or mentioning Gura and barely tries in her streams anymore.

This has also had a negative effect on Gura's psyche as she was just looking to help her friend out and instead ended up outshining her and creating a rift in their friendship as a result. She's probably relieved Ame's outfit is so much better than hers since now their popularity might equalize and she desperately hopes they can be friends again once Ame stops numberfagging.
