I watched this long ago for school reaction paper and didn't understand what was so sad about it. Were they being abused? I only understood that the foster parents were treating them like nuisance, which they are during a war of all things, but they are still fed better than when he decided to ditch and literally feeding on garbage, stones, and grass.
