Going to need a timeline from /nasa/ to put everything in detail. They've only been on Vitubia for a very short time so a lot of citizens might not know much aside from what they read from the news and gossip despite us being the nation whom they have the most contact with. For some within the government the civil war and lockdown had soured the relationship considerably but due to some shared similarities and the mention of Sana within the religious cosmology of the Republic most would still mourn the dimming of Sana's chuubanite. Depends on what /nasa/ decides at the end but the Republic most likely did send some troops up north to deal with the Schizos. And at the moment Sana's last broadcast was aired the whole country would be griefing, but it would quickly recover to deal with the fallout (probably literally) of the event and other concerns.
