Insects as a whole tends to be female ruled, insects and Arachnids.

Furthermore the alpha male in animal kingdoms doesn't isn't even about mating rites, it's about leading the pack. There is no "getting all the females" in the packs. Even lion packs have more than one male and if they dont do their job right the females will kill them
