good points, i was thinking you should cut down on the colors because that's vexillology 101 but i can't say that when my home board went crazy with colors too
don't be afraid to add more stuff, especially if there's any retro game emblems that you think you could call back to (all those ace combat ones, and the MSX-era foxhound logo was pretty great too). with /wvt/, it has one where it was meant to mirror the DAICON convention emblem a bit since it was a meeting point between japanese and western sci-fi
