not to blogpost or anything, more just looking for advice:

what do you do when it feels like you're not improving? I've been reading books both fiction and non-fiction, expanding my horizons into genres I'm not usually interested in and reading some self-help stuff on writing. Yet it never really seems to translate. It's not that I haven't gotten better, but I haven't gotten better where it counts: plot.

Usually I push through no matter what and I have been for a while now but my self confidence in my work has been whittled down so much that now I'm second guessing practically every word I write. I'm not blaming anyone here because I'd rather people be honest instead of lie and save my feelings, I want to improve. But for some reason I keep missing the bullseye. Any advice? I don't want to give up because I love writing. I really truly love it. But I'm getting to the point where the hobby just nukes my self confidence.

I had an online persona for a group of mentally ill people on this board. Stupidly, I tried to extend my hand out to help one of them in specific. That person is a good person, and the consequences not their fault, but as a result, people unearthed things I'm not proud of. Shined a light on a person whom I am not proud to have been.

I left that community in disgrace and never publicly made a big deal over it. Truly though, I resent my decision to offer than hand to help every day. I struggle with a long of things and that was a beacon of light in my life. Now it's lost to me forever. I know if I ever go back to that community, I will be mocked relentlessly and it will never be the pure, soft experience it once was. Even if people forgave me, that persona I had will never have the respect it used to have.

I never realized how much I missed it until I lost it. My life has been a lot bleaker having lost the ability to use that persona as a method to help those in need.

I'm going to chalk this one up to the way pygma is at the moment. I saw those same errors back in Gradio when pygma 6B was in its early days, I think with 2.7 and lower as well. I can't exactly vouch for Tavern causing those same errors since it visibly bothers itself by hiding those attempts unless you want to edit the bot's message and spot it there. Once I'm done with my things here, I'll fire up Tavern again and check what I can do with formatting to optimize it, maybe fix bot reply formatting while I'm at it. I'm also hoping that the matrixbros keep the "pad token id" thing in mind for the future, and that it isn't actually causing any errors on our side as well. Thank you once again, anon, I'll keep tabs on this for future bot baking.

I guess now I have my work cut out for me. There's one AZKi bot in the original rentry list for CAI bots, but no one has made any in pygma so now I have shit to do. Should also get to making that Coco bot. Fingers crossed I don't begin drinking while doing this.
