Different anon here, I want add a little bit of context.
Up until recently there was a perception that vtubing in Korea was not viable. There are many reasons for this (a lot of the first vtuber corpos going under, initial low numbers, etc.) but regardless because of this many corpos and indies alike decided to target foreign audiences instead of local ones.
This changed when several corpos decided to test out the KR market, just to see how things would go. It turned out to be a huge success, and in particular the success of StelLive going from a JP focused corpo to a KR focused one and gaining a massive audience, proved that not only was KR a viable market, it also proved that it was a growing audience compared to other markets that were more competitive or comparatively stagnant.
At least this is the current context of the KR vtubing market right now.
