Alright, I've decoded it, it was a massive pain in the ass but I've done it.
Again, masterful integration of thread memes into lore, it's pretty impressive.
On the topic of the founding war, as of now there isn't a single great founding war, althought the first notes i wrote about it did imply that a lot, the most recent version of that lore is that the Republic instead went through multiple periods of unrest and conflict until it settled into a peace. I don't know how early modern states conducted their census, but I'm sure we can leave it to the imagination.
The idea of having a fertility festival is interesting, but I'd switch its name to "Spring Festival" instead of sugar rush week and have it start, well, in spring. That way it can fit neatly into a larger "Harvest Season" where the resources to celebrate should be there already.
Temple priests having the ability to officiate weddings makes sense to me, althought I imagine they'd have to get government permits to do that.
Granted, our lack of access to cheap sugar is most certainly the main reason due to why I hesitate to use the sugar rush title.
Having a specific day for military parades in the middle of the celebrations is neat, I've been avoiding any imperial roman influence thought, so coming up with an in-universe reason for that particular type of wear is something we'll have to do sometime.
Conclusion:
Decrypting this was a pain in the ass and it sucked. Never do it again. I hate it.
The lore was neat.
