Sometimes I like to imagine Shondo as a sleep paralysis demon. She scrambles on all fours and scurries up the wall and onto the ceiling. Sometimes she just watches me sleep from there. Other times she'll crawl up the foot of the bed and straddle me. Her pale face framed by her dark hair dangling down. She's within kissing distance, and staring intensely, and tilts her head like a curious German shepherd. She leans as if to kiss me but instead takes steady, long inhale.
