>what helps with getting someone interested within the retro niche.

There are, in general too approaches to the retro category

1- experiences classics for the first time
2- replaying games you played in your childhood and rage about it

First route is the chuubacore approach to retro, the second route is the angry videogame nerd route that was popular before.

To make them click, it is ironicany going to depend on how you frame the narrative:

- "newbie tries Mario 64/ OoT for the first time" always gets the views, but you will have to be careful with backseaters because what most people are in for is to see you struggle

- " I had this game and I never beat it" you go for the Nintendo hard titles and be extremely miserable, the megamans and Battletoads usually do the trick

Either of this strategies will usually get people to click in the retro category , the last route combined with Endurance streaming where you are not allowed to quit until you finish it is actually Korone's niche, but she also dabbles in the first one every so often.
Korone is also knows how to exploit both to its maximun by creating clippable moments out of both of them:
Example of one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XacqbvjrGGo
Example of two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vam228CVKzA

please watch both and learn from the master
