Yeah, no, people like Koyori are probably never going to be good at the game and rely on playstyles like she has in order to get to the end. I don't mind people who genuinely can't get good doing that sort of thing. I enjoy her playthrough regardless.
Don't worry about the horror elements. It's only bad for a little bit during your first playthrough. Once you get the hang of combat, however, it's not scary at all. The only thing that remains is a dark (fantasy), oppressive atmosphere.
