Vshoujo is just too girl power for me. They lean into the struggle whe they're struggling for themselves in a socially acceptable way, but quickly condemn those who get canceled for socially unacceptable behavior. That kind of unabashed hypocrisy and social irresponsibility is a massive turn off.

People are right when they say ecelebs have social obligations. But they're wrong when they claim it's to take the popular side. Great power, great responsibility. Speaking truth to power doesn't mean going with the flow. It means speaking up on behalf of people nobody else will at great personal risk. Because most western vtubers and ecelebs in general are psychopaths and narcissists who're primarily in it for the money, what we get is a constant stream of garbage that looks a toilet after Vei and feesh get done with it.

The English speaking vtubing community will never see the rise of a true hero, if only because the market has settled on rewarding politically correct, pander-centric echo chambers. Such is life. At least we'll always have based unapologetic cute and funny connoisseur to challenge prevailing narratives. Until the nipfems get him deplatformed.
